The race has concluded but check back for future races!
This event is a virtual race that is meant to encourage folks to take to the trails in and around Brown County, Indiana. Late Winter/early Spring is a great time of year to explore local trails. There is no cost associated with this race. There is occasionally a gate fee for Brown County State Park in February/March.
This race will consist of 5 trail segments run over 5 weeks. Beginning February 7th, a new segment will be posted every Friday and participants will have 2 weeks to complete that segment to count toward the overall time. Each segment will be between 4-6ish miles. Each segment will highlight a different park or forest in or around Brown County.
This virtual race is meant to encourage runners to explore areas and trails in Brown County that may be new to them. And let's be honest, a little competition can be fun! The parks/forests the segments will be located are Morgan Monroe State Forest, Yellowwood State Forest, Brown County State Park, Hoosier National Forest, and Laura Hare Nature Preserve (not in that order).
Click the 'Sign Up Now' button at the top of this page and complete the form.
Once your form is completed you will receive an email confirmation (within 24 hours) with more details about the race.
Results from each segment will be posted to the leaderboard and will be updated on Thursdays at 9 pm. The Leaderboard can be found via the link at the top of this page.
We will be utilizing the Strava platform for race results. You will need a Strava profile (don't worry, there is a free option) and your run will need to be posted and labeled appropriately for each race segment. This will help keep things honest.
The first segment will be posted on Friday, February 7th and a new segment will be posted each week for 5 weeks. You will have two weeks to complete each segment at your leisure once it's been posted. So the race will officially begin on February 7th and end March 21st.
Other than personal pride and bragging rights we will send the winners a hand-crafted trophy by a local Brown County artesian.
